Troops from Task Force 2-69 of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team of the 3rd Infantry Division were called upon to lead the assault of Iraq. They encountered enemy fire for 23-days, setting a U. S. Army record for sustained enemy contact. They battled dust, fatigue and exhaustion as they made a steady march into northern Baghdad. INVASION - WAR AND DUST: The U. S. Army moves through a small town in Iraq during a sand storm. The town was the scene of intense fighting during the slow march to Baghdad.
