The remnants of hurricanes Frances, Ivan and Jeanne brought back-to-back floods, high winds, tornadoes and widespread devastation to the Carolinas. Specially trained fire fighters and National Guard troops rescued residents as their mountain towns were ravaged by floods or buried beneath mile-wide landslides that took down trees wider than a pickup truck. pscho "Hurricane Rescue"
